Take 1 Performance is about combining mental and physical training to develop skills that lead to peak performance. Take 1 stands for Tenacity, Adaptability, Knowledge, and Execution. These 4 concepts represent the foundational components of our program that lead to taking that 1 moment and making the most of it.

Jason Brooks
Jason Brooks is the founder and owner of Take 1 Performance. His athletic journey began in high school where he competed in track and field. He continued competing at Arkansas State University on the track team and won numerous athletic awards including conference champion, regional qualifier, and academic All-American status. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Jason began his coaching career working with the Memphis Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) in 1999. He has also coached Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), high school, and Division 1 athletics where he worked with athletes from numerous sports including track and field, rugby, volleyball, soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and tennis. Several of his athletes have excelled in their respective sports on both the collegiate and professional levels.
Outside of athletics, Jason has worked in higher education as an academic advisor, instructor, and director. During this time he has helped students in their professional and personal transitions through goal setting and road-mapping.
Jason is a certified group fitness trainer with the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and is a certified mental skills trainer. He has a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with and emphasis in Psychology, Health, and Physical Education as well as a master's degree in Sport Administration. He is currently pursing a PhD in Performance Psychology.
Jason believes that everyone should adopt the "Take 1" mindset....Tenacity, Adaptability, Knowledge, Execution, and 1 chance to make it count.
